Halfway through expedition, Ronan got approached to apply for a really great job, paying a bazillion times more than his last job. It was at that point that he knew he;d gotten what he'd wanted from expedition, and was ready to leave. Except there was another half of expedition to go. But he felt a massive sense of relief knowing that whatever job he went back to would be better than the one he'd left.
lyrics
Verse one:
Let me see if I’ve got this right
You want me to work doing things I like
Feels like you’re shitting me
Saying you want to give that much money
For the privilege everyday
Of doing things I can do with my eyes closed anyway
It took three months working for free
With the job title you needed to see
Chorus:
Now I’m ready to take your money
I want the house, the car and holidays
I know I’m a bit behind and I’ll admit it’s taken some time
I finally worked out how to take your money
Verse two:
For seven years now I’m been aimlessly around
With any job that could be found
I pay my rent and bills
With very little left for fun and thrills
They said you can’t have any more pay
‘Cause you don’t earn enough today
The way it works in these times
Is if you start at the bottom, you’re not allowed climb
Middle 8
I know this sounds like a simple case of greed
I want you to know I completely agree
You might say money won’t make you happy
But I’d rather cry in a Ferrari
