about

This is Nerve Centre's eighth album!

It's a typical Nerve Centre hodge-podge mess of an album and probably the most "band" album yet:

• Ronan The Singer solely wrote only two tracks
• John The Bassist sings two tracks
• Ronan The Singer and James The Guitarist played bass on some tracks

Some of the tracks have stories about their writing in their descriptions. They might be worth a read.

Track Name: Psycho Ex-Girlfriend
Verse 1:
Of course we'll stay friends
As every break-up says
But it's not fair
To who we want to lay next
To still hang around with your ex
It's a bit strange

Chorus:
My psycho ex-girlfriend
Can't tell when the end id the end
Can't leave well enough alone
Can't just let us both move on

Verse 2:
Since up, we did break
All my friends have to say
Is they never liked you anyway
Just want to give you back
Your things and fade quickly to black
Why could you not do that?

Middle 8:
Three messages went ignored
Why did you have to send one more?
What did you think you'd have to gain?
I just want to be left alone
Track Name: Room 9
Verse 1:
Punched a whole in the wall.
Took a kick in the teeth.
The ground swallows you up
As you slip underneath

Bridge:
Do you want the same time
The same place, next week?
Do you want the same time
The same place, next week?

Chorus:
Why don't you paint my dirty walls with your feet?
Why don't you paint my dirty walls with your feet?
Why don't you paint my dirty walls with your feet?
Why don't you paint my dirty walls with your feet?

Verse 2:
The sofa is torn
And the carpets are worn
The piano is dead
This is what the man said
Track Name: I Hate The Atlantic
Verse 1:
On the steps of Il Duomo at 3am
She said "Am I gonna see you ever again?"
On that Florentine night I
Said I'd like to try
Now I won't sleep til'...

We kissed and said our goodnights
Then emails turned into Skype
Now I don't sleep at night
'Cause I have to find
Out how her day was
And making plans for
How we can meet next
Where and when and all the rest

Chorus:
Of all the things I couldn't predict
I hate the Atlantic
It comes betweens you and me
Of all the things I'd never predict
I hate the Atlantic
With all of its fishes and sea
Track Name: Number 4
Verse 1:
Got a brand new groove to ride on,
The sharks are on their way
You're tearing down the road we live on
But every dog has his day
Give me a dream in purple
A long lost airplane ride
Looking out across a sea of people
I can't see nowhere to hide

Chorus:
But we'll never get there
No matter how hard we try
My feet they ache from walking
Down the back roads of your life

Verse 2:
I can see the sun is setting
The silence knows no bounds
But there is something you're forgetting
You've got your head in the clouds

Final chorus:
But we'll never get there
No matter how hard we try
My feet they ache from walking
Down the back roads of your life
But I know we'll get there
And then we'll learn to fly
My mouth is aches from talking
You down from the sky
Track Name: Essex Special
Verse 1:
Never felt like this before
It's all new to me
Never felt like this before
It's strange as strange could be
Babe you shot me down
Here I am in front of you
You thought that was the end of me
What more can you do

Chorus:
Ian Malcolm
Ian Malcolm
Ian Malcolm

Verse 2:
You proudly say
Yours is bigger than ours
It's Saturday night
Let's not take them out
Slow down, slow down
You're crying over me
I'm the one thing
I could never be
Track Name: Dinosaurs
Verse 1:
You can count my fingers one at a time
Don't worry about me, things always turn out fine
Woah oh, woah oh
Been coming for a while now it's at a head
Let's count our lucky stars that none of us is dead
Woah oh, woah oh
Can't believe it's taken so long
For me to get my shit and just get gone
Woah oh, woah oh
Woah oh, woah oh oh

Chorus:
And you can count your lucky stars
You can count your lucky stars

Verse 2:
You can count my fingers one at a time
Don't worry about me, things always turn out fine
Woah oh, woah oh
Been coming for a while now it's at a head
Let's count our lucky stars that none of us is dead
Woah oh, woah oh
Track Name: The Jager Game
Verse 1:
If your name is Ryan, you drink
If you click, you drink
If you’re wearing glasses, you drink
If you’re wearing a long coat you drink

Chorus:
These are the rules of The Jager Game
These are the rules of The Jager Game
These are the rule, though they never stay the same
These are the rules of The Jager Game

Verse 2:
If you’re sat next to Richard, you drink
If it’s in your left hand, you drink
If you say you’re fine, you drink
If it’s 3am, you drink
Track Name: Jon's Weekly Tumbl
Verse 1:
Jon likes to Tumbl, he tells us every week
But he also tells us, he hasn’t need it in year
He reckons it has got, everything a man could need
Whether it’s vanilla, or something really weird

Chorus:
Jon likes to Tumbl
Jon like likes to Tumbl
Tumbling late into the night
We hope he does not go blind

Verse 2:
Jon insists it’s the best,
But sometimes he needs a rest
He doesn’t want blisters on his fingers
He doesn’t want to look at mingers
Track Name: Missing
Verse 1:
James, where are you now?
It's always the same
Where are you now?

Verse 2:
James, where are you now?
It's becoming a pain
Where are you now?
Track Name: Where Is John?
Verse 1:
Where is John?
Where is John?
The bassist who never comes
To practice on time

Chorus:
Is he at the cash machine
Or on the lavatory?
Where is John?

Verse 2:
We went to the pub
We went to the pub
When John didn't come
To practice at all
Track Name: Fallen From Grace
Verse 1:
Spent years watching you
When I grew up I wanted to do what you do
You were the stars on the tv screen
You were the top of the music scene
I bought your songs on tape cassettes
I watched your gigs on vhs
I had your posters on my wall
I didn't know you were headed for a fall

Chorus:
You have fallen from grace
So wipe that smirk off your face
It'll be no disgrace
But you won't find a new hiding place

Verse 2:
They say you shouldn’t meet those you idolise
There are things you didn’t realise
They may not turn out to be what they seemed
When you watched them on your tv screen
Some stars were meant to fall
When they put themselves above it all
After all they’re just like you and me
They’re not the gods we make them out to be
